It has been obvious that many
people around the world admire the array of innovations from Japan, especially
in terms of electronic products. We all know that the country is considered to
be one of the leading nations in the field of technology. However, as much as
we consider their technology, we sometimes tend to get astonished and curious
why such inventions were created. What is even amazing with Japanese innovators
is that they can create things that the world could/would have never imagined
to create. This what makes them unique and sometimes weird in the eyes of many
people. Japan technology gives too convenience to people that sometimes it
becomes too much and not so useful at all. They try to make big things out of
simple stuff.
Now that the Valentine ’s Day is
approaching, a group of innovators from Japan created an invention that would
definitely amaze the people all over the world. This product would simply test
a woman’s true love.
JapanToday, an online news website, posted an article
last January 29, 2014 which was entitled “Innovative Bra Cannot be Unhooked
Without True Love”. This sounds crazy and unusual; but what is really behind
this innovation? A Japanese lingerie company produced a bra that will only
unlock when the wearer is really in love. How true is that? How does it work?
According to the article, “The ‘True Love Tester’ uses sensors and a special
gadget linked to a mobile device to analyze the pattern and speed of the user’s
heart beat in the heat of the moment”. This bra won’t be unhooked if the
heartbeat of the woman does not reach the required speed. There is a sensor placed
inside the cup of the bra which sends signals to a Smartphone. In this way, the
heartbeat of a woman will be measured and tested. However, this product is not
for sale but was only used as a form of publicity campaign. This product gained both
positive and negative comments from the viewers.

Do you think it would be useful to
the Filipino women? Not all forms of technology
are useful and acceptable. In the Philippines, this kind of technology may
become offensive to some women since it is not really the basis of true love
for most of the Filipinos. This may trigger controversies if this product will once be
introduced here. In addition, technological inventions are cultural. It depicts the
kinds of people a nation has. What’s your opinion?
