Earth is made up of ¾ water and ¼ land. This shows how wide and big the water occupies our earth. In line with this, our environment is one of the most important to us, human beings. As generations passes by, a lot of changes are happening to our surroundings. As a result, many technologies were invented and many hidden beautiful places were discovered. These give two different outcomes to human, danger and opportunity.
First will be the danger because as we all know, humans always aim for the best though it may cause bad to others especially to our surroundings, for example, the discovery of a new resort. In the Philippines many resorts became new tourist spots because of its natural beauty and unique characteristics. If the number of tourists increases, of course the management of the resort doesn’t have enough power to control everyone to behave properly and responsibly. Because of this inefficient control, it might cause danger and damage with the place. The people will produce trash and because of misbehavior, they might throw and scatter it anywhere until the time will come that it will cause pollution.
Next is the opportunity. A new discovery will give work to a lot of people too. This will also challenge each other’s intellect to think about of something that will help to improve to new discovery. This is the positive product of changes.
With these effects anyone can do something. Like what the speaker did, as young as 19 years old she was able to stand out among the older people who were not concern about the environment. Her talk was very inspiring. It did not just inform us but also encourage us to lead the leaders. A quote from her was, “do the lead and the leaders will follow.” She proved this by her acts as she became the chief mermaid of SPS (Save Philippine Seas). Because of her brevity a big changed happen. This shows that no matter who and how young you are, you can take a step for a better future not only to yourself but also for the next coming generations.

Our environment is not forever that is why we need to sustain and take good care of it. We do not know a lot about our sea but we can study and learn more about it. Let us preserve and protect what we have and do something for its improvement not for its destruction.
